Ever since I was in high school, I really knew that I wanted to do something that was part of the health of people, helping people find a healthier place in their life. As I was looking into career paths, dentistry really appealed to me because it was a combination of that health care and also the fine detail work with my hands. That’s always been something that I’ve enjoyed. The thing that gets me up every day is looking forward to completing a plan with my patients. Probably my favorite part of the day is when I get to have my checkup and hygiene and look in a patient’s mouth and say, “Hey, things look good. We’ll see you next time.” That’s a win. That’s a really big part of why I do what I do.
So, I graduated from Hamilton High School right here in the Bitterroot. From there, I went to the University of Idaho for my undergraduate degree. I studied business management and health sciences. From there, I got accepted into the University of Washington School of Dentistry, which is a highly-rated school internationally. I spent my four years there pursuing my doctorate. I got to be part of a few different study clubs and continuing education organizations there. All those organizations I’ve continued my membership with, along with some other ones more local to me here in Montana. Continuing education is a big part of what I enjoy doing. I love learning about the new technologies and new techniques that are always being developed.
Receive Great Care From Dr. Greg Beck
Dr. Greg Beck’s passion for dentistry began in high school. He took an interest assessment test for possible careers, and dentistry caught his attention as he explored different options.
His grandfather had been a dentist, and Dr. Beck was often told he had a lot in common with him. Although he never got to see his grandfather practice, he could see the appeal of dentistry. He’s always enjoyed doing small detail work with his hands, and he knew he wanted a job where he could make a difference for people. The more he learned and observed the other dentists in the community, the more he wanted to be part of the profession.
Dr. Beck graduated as valedictorian of his class at Hamilton High School. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in business management and human resources from the University of Idaho, graduating summa cum laude. Afterward, he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he received the Peer Mentorship Award.
Dr. Beck takes the time to ensure his patients understand what he sees with their oral health and the reasons behind his treatment recommendations. He loves when patients ask questions and will always do his best to answer them. His passion is working with his patients to build a treatment plan together, so they feel informed and confident about it. He especially enjoys getting to the end of a treatment plan and celebrating with his patients when they regain a healthy mouth. He also takes the time to build relationships early by visiting our local schools to help education young people about the benefits of good oral healthcare.
