Pamper Your Smile With General Dental Care

General dentistry services form the cornerstone of the work we do here at Beck Dental. Dr. Beck and our team love providing these treatments because we understand their value. Of course, you need to brush twice daily and floss once a day to help prevent cavities and gum disease. But keeping up with your basic dental care is a crucial part of maintaining a happy, healthy smile.

Regular dental care will help us monitor your oral health and the condition of your mouth, catching small changes in your teeth and gums early on.  With early detection, treatment is less extensive, more comfortable, and more successful.

Below are some types of general dentistry we provide:

  • Dental Cleanings and Exams – If you’re a new patient, we’ll snap a set of X-rays, including panoramic shots, and take a complete dental history so we better understand your oral health. Then we’ll examine your mouth, teeth, and gums to check for cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, bite problems, and other issues. New patients won’t receive a teeth cleaning at their first appointment. We’ll schedule that part for another visit, so we have adequate time to go over your treatment plan. Existing patients will have their teeth cleaned by our hygienist using a gentle ultrasonic cleaner.
  • Nonsurgical Gum Disease Treatment – If we find signs of gum disease, we’ll recommend a deep cleaning. We’ll use a scaler to remove plaque, tartar, and bacteria from around and under your gumline. Then we’ll smooth your teeth roots so it’s more difficult for bacteria to collect there. If necessary, we’ll refer you to a trusted local periodontist for further care, including gum recession treatment.
  • Custom Mouthguards – Our team can make several types of professional mouthguards right here in our office. You can get an athletic mouthguard to protect your teeth during sports or a night guard that will ease tension on your TMJs (jaw joints) and help prevent damaging teeth grinding.
